Check if Someone is Invisible or Offline in Gmail / GTalk

If you want to check if someone is invisible or really offline in Gmail chat or GTalk, here is a cool little trick for you.

People often activate the invisible mode for one reason or the other. The may be busy with some important task and want to chat only with those who they want to or they may have come online just to check out few important e-mails. Whatever may be their reason to stay invisible, you can always find out whether they are really offline or just pretending to be offline.

The Trick :

Open and login into your GTalk account and click on the person who you want to confirm as offline or invisible. Once you are in the chat window, click on the down arrow and select “ Go off the record” .

GTalk will display a message “You are now off the record (from now on, chats with ***** will not be saved in *****’s Gmail account or yours)”

Now type your message to the person. After you click enter there are two possibilities

Possibility 1 . GTalk displays a message in red color that “xxx@gmail.com is offline and cannot receive your messages right now “. This indicates that the person is really offline and its no point sending messages right now.

Possiblity 2 . GTalk does display any messages and goes on with a normal chat window. This indicates that the person in not offline but is simply using the invisible mode.

I think now you can catch any one who is trying to hide from you on Gmail or GTalk

How To Fix Wrong Timestamps On Gmail Messages

Lately, I'm noticing that all my messages in Gmail have the wrong time displayed on each message. So i try to solve this problem and finally get the solution for the problem. So i think to share it with others becaouse i am not the only one got this problem.

Sometime You would think that the timezone setting can be changed in the Settings options of your Gmail account, but you can't. Instead, since the timezone information is a global setting, you need to change it at your Google account settings.
  • To do this, visit https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount?service=mail&hl=en (log on to your Google account if needed).

  • There, you will see your Google account Personal information with the current time zone setting.

  • To change it, click on the Edit link next to Personal information. Then in the account information screen, choose your timezone by clicking on the check box next to Display all timezones followed by change the timezone (using the pull down arrow).

  • Once you make the change, click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen, followed by clicking on the Back link in the yellow confirmation notice.

You should now see the correct timezone displayed on the Personal information screen. To go back to your Gmail mailbox, click on the Gmail link on the right. The time stamps on your messages should now be correct.

If the time is still wrong, check the timezone setting of your your PC clock. It's probably needs to be change to the correct timezone setting that you want.

Now i think your problem get sloved....
